It is a cereal with small golden yellow grains. When the corn kernel is heated, the moisture contained in it turns into steam, generating an internal pressure that causes a small explosion or burst, releasing the white starch that gives the popcorn its classic appearance. Sometimes it may happen that some grains remain unexploded, this may depend on the insufficient humidity of the grain.
